Please give us a short summary of your website?
CNC Machine Shops is a site where you can locate new and used CNC Machines, CNC Tools etc. at great prices.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I have been working on finding the best deals and prices for over 20 years. It really upsets me when I run across a Website that charges way too much for their merchandise, so I spend mu days locating the best deals and sharing them with everyone.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The first Website I launched was DomainerDude.com. I started the site in order to help others locate great domain names at no charge. I helped many people but it became too time consuming so I shut the site down.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
As I have already mentioned, one of my favorite past-times is locating good domain names. I simply search and search different combination of relevant words on the topic of the site. When I located one that matched CNC Machines, I grabbed it.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I live by the rule, "Keep It Simple Stupid." CNC Machine Shops is simply a Website that has no unneeded bells and whistles. When you visit the site you immediately see the purpose, and find the information you are looking for.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My goal has already been met. My goal was to simply make available a list of the best priced CNC Machines. Mission Accomplished!
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Success is not measured by time and money, success is measured by the depth of how your time and money has helped others.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Seeing how I am an old man now, I really do not have unlimited time, but, if I was not limited as to time and finance, I would turn CNC Machine Shops into a full fledged CNC Community Site.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I learned a lesson from my Father which has been with me my entire life, work hard, work long, and everything else will take care of itself.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I can honestly make the statement, None!
What has been your biggest challenge?
Content theft and continually having to contact Google to have content thieves removed from the Internet.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Just simple good old fashioned original content and 17 hour work days.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
My expectations from the beginning was that this would be a job, my expectations have been right on.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
This particular site is fairly new, however, I have other sites on the same subject matter which have been up longer. As you all know and agree, it's nice to make an income from all your hard work, but most of my Websites are created to help others save money. The bottom line is that even if my site does not produce an income, it will remain active for the purpose in which it was created, to help others.
Why would you pay more for the same CNC Machine?
Many are simply too busy to set down and spend all day in search of a better deal, time is money! But do you understand that just a small % of savings on a CNC Machine can save you thousands of dollars?
