CNC machines are used in automated production lines in big factories and manufacturing units across the globe. Truly the CNC machines are quite expensive but this does not mean to say that there isnt a way around it. Here is a page which describes (not fully though) how to go about building one such inexpensive desktop CNC which may not be very complex but sufficient to carry out many routine tasks.
