Machine tool directory listing 1000's of lathes specifications, machine tool manufacuturers and european machine tool dealers

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I am in the Lathe industry and found it a bit of a nightmare when looking for the right lathe so i thought it would be a good idea to have all the information you needed in one place.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2004 www.findamachine.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

we wanted something relavant and easy to remember

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

It is an advanced search system and has all the information you need when looking for a specific machine.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it for income and keep updating it and keep information up to date

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

we need more people in sales to promote our site.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

add more types of machinery to search for

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We would need to employ more staff to keep on top of enquirys

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

needed alot more development time than expected and time taken for data entry

What has been your biggest challenge?

Finding the best way to promote the website and designing the whole website

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Highly optimized in the search engine

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

it has taken alot more time and money than orginally expected to get it to the highest of quality of information for viewers

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Its been running 3 years and will continue over the next few months, if the site continues to grow like it is will keep it going indefinitely
