Siemens Drive Technologies' has a new Sinumerik 828D, which actually combines the CNC as well as the PLC, operator panel and even axis control for six CNC measurement circuits in one robust operator panel.
This new solution would now have to be considered by compact class machine tool operators that are running complex turning machines and milling machines.
General manager of the Siemens motion control business in the United States, Wolfgang Rubrecht, says that energy efficient machine are what is sought after by customers. He is clearly not mistaken.
